One suspect on the run, other hospitalized after gunfire outside El Patio Bar

Police are investigating a shooting outside a bar on the city’s Westside that left one man hospitalized and saw another man flee the scene after the incident, according to San Antonio officials. 

According to the SAPD, authorities responded to a shooting in progress call outside El Patio Bar in the 1000 block of Frio City Road around 1:53 a.m. on Sunday, March 12. Based on the information gathered by authorities while investigating, two suspects left the Westside bar after being separated for a fight with other individuals at the venue.

According to officials, the two suspects then returned to the location with guns and opened fire on the bar from the street. The security guard at the venue reportedly returned fire, striking one of the suspects. After EMS was called and made it to the scene, the injured suspect was transported to the local hospital where he’s in stable condition, according to the SAPD.

The second suspect fled the scene immediately and still hasn’t been located at this time, according to authorities. This is an ongoing investigation and will be updated as more information is made available.
