Original Burger Boy location making a comeback after fire damage. Here’s when.

Burger Boy’s St. Mary’s location is set for a 2026 reopening after a fire damaged the site.

SAN ANTONIO — Burger Boy’s original home is gearing up for a comeback, with the iconic spot set to reopen early next year, the company announced on Instagram.

The St. Mary’s location caught fire earlier this year prompting a temporary closure but the Burger Boy team says they are on track to reopen the doors in the first quarter of 2026.

San Antonio firefighters were initially called to the 2300 block of North St. Mary’s Street on August 22 around 11 p.m. for a structure fire. While firefighters were able to quickly put out the flames, the restaurant sustained moderate damage.

Officials said flames had broken out in the kitchen area and spread into the attic but all employees were able to get out safely and no injuries were reported.

The post states that the local franchise has been working to rebuild, refresh and “bring new life to the spot where it all started.”

Burger Boy officials say they are thankful for the community as they prepare to welcome customers back to the O.G. location.

“We want to thank everyone for the outpouring of support, patience, and love you’ve shown us during this time — it truly means everything to the Burger Boy family,” the post states.
