Crash blocks I‑35 to I‑10 west ramp Friday morning as crews respond to possible fuel spill and divert traffic.
SAN ANTONIO — An overturned 18-wheeler shut down a key connector ramp in central San Antonio on Friday morning, causing traffic to be diverted at one of downtown’s busiest highway interchanges.
The crash occurred at Finesilver Curve, the connector ramp from Interstate 35 south to Interstate 10 west. Authorities closed the ramp as firefighters worked at the scene, blocking portions of I‑35 and I‑10.
San Antonio firefighters responded to the crash, and transportation officials warned drivers to expect delays in the area. Traffic on the closed ramp was diverted back to Interstate 35 south or to Exit 157A at San Pedro Avenue.
TransGuide said a spill occurred as a result of the crash, possibly involving fuel, though the exact substance has not been confirmed.
There was no immediate estimate for when the ramp would reopen.
