Traffic was being diverted off the roadway onto the access road.
SAN ANTONIO — A tractor-trailer overturned on a busy northwest-side highway lead to major traffic delays on an otherwise calm Sunday evening in the Alamo City.
The big rig was seen resting on its side and blocking most of the eastbound lanes on Loop 410 near the I-10 interchange in northwest San Antonio.
Police said the driver of the tractor-trailer was traveling eastbound when she felt the trailer begin to swerve. She tried to regain control but was unsuccessful and the trailer flipped on its side, dragging the driver’s vehicle around to face oncoming traffic.
Police were seen redirecting traffic off the highway and onto the access roads but the volume of cars was already backing up Loop 410.
No other vehicles were damaged by the incident and no injuries were reported.
No word yet on what caused the tractor-trailer to overturn. The investigation is ongoing.
