PALESTINE, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has confirmed that a man died Wednesday night in an ATV crash near County Road 3703 in Palestine.
The victim has been identified as 49-year-old Guillermo Garcia of Palestine. He died while being taken to the hospital.
According to DPS, Garcia’s ATV went into a side skid and eventually rolled over, ejecting both Garcia and his son, who was riding as a passenger.
Garcia’s son was taken to Palestine Regional Medical Center. His condition has not been released.
DPS says it is unclear whether or not Garcia and his son were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
