
K9 Hondo, a German shepherd with the Palestine Police Department, escaped his handler’s enclosure after a storm Sunday night.
PALESTINE, Texas — The Palestine Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a K9 officer who went missing following Sunday night’s storm.
K9 Hondo, a German shepherd, escaped from his handler’s enclosure in the Fort Houston addition area of Palestine. Police say the dog is microchipped and they are urging anyone who sees him to contact them immediately at (903) 729-2254.
No sightings have been confirmed as of Monday morning.
“We appreciate your support in bringing him home safely,” the department said in a statement.
K9 Hondo serves as part of the department’s canine unit, assisting with searches, tracking and suspect apprehension.
