Partial scaffolding collapse causes emergency street closure downtown

The collapse was reported about 10 stories up at a building at the intersection Commerce Street and Soledad.

SAN ANTONIO — A partial scaffolding collapse was reported downtown, causing an emergency street closure Friday, the San Antonio Fire Department said. 

The collapse was reported about 10 stories up at a building at the intersection Commerce Street and Soledad. There was no one on the scaffolding at the time and there were no reports of any injuries. 

Photos from the scene show the mangled scaffolding from the partial collapse. 

The city said it will have to implement an emergency street closure in and around the intersection of Soledad and Commerce Street as the fire department responds to the emergency. 

The city is expected to give more details about the emergency street closure Friday at 4 p.m.
