A week of rollercoaster temperatures continues with another round of chilly temperatures expected in the San Antonio region.
BEXAR COUNTY, Texas — IMPACT DAYS: Tuesday morning, March 16, 2026
Reason: Anticipated freezing temperatures in the Hill Country
The breakdown
Winds are dying down in San Antonio on Monday night, accompanied by dry air and partly cloudy skies. That combination is a precursor for widespread temperatures in the 30s on Tuesday morning, with some Hill Country communities dipping closer to 30 degrees.
Here’s a snapshot at the expected morning low for local communities:
- Kerrville: 31 degrees
- Fredericksburg: 31
- Uvalde: 32
- Hondo: 33
- Rocksprings: 34
- Karnes City: 35
- New Braunfels: 35
- Pearsall: 36
- Pleasanton: 36
- Eagle Pass: 38
- Carrizo Springs: 38
- San Antonio: 38
- Del Rio: 40
The chilly morning air will be followed by sunshine and afternoon highs in the mid-60s ahead of our next warm-up. Tuesday will also bring near-critical fire weather conditions for San Antonio and the Hill Country; gusty winds, dry air and low humidity mean fires can spark easily.
We’ll be in the 90s again by Friday as we approach the first weekend of spring. Our next chance of rain is next week; right now, it’s a slight chance for our drought-stricken region.
