LONGVIEW, Texas — A 19-year-old man with measles was treated and released from Christus Good Shepherd in Longview.
According to a Texas Department of State Health Services spokesperson, an unvaccinated adult went to the ER on Saturday and was diagnosed with measles.
“In public health, we report cases by where a person resides. We are gathering additional information about the case to determine their residency status and if this case is related to the outbreak in West Texas,” the statement read.
The patient arrived at the hospital’s emergency room Sunday and was released. He was not hospitalized. Testing by the state of Texas and the hospital confirmed the case, Gregg County Health Authority Dr. Lewis Browne told the Longview News-Journal.
