PayPal takes next steps for new office in Austin’s ‘second downtown’

PayPal filed the plans with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation on Thursday, January 16. The project is slated to begin on February 3 and estimated to be completed by October 31.

The $17,367,000 project will span the company’s suites 80,091 square feet of space on the 20, 21 and 22 floors of the building’s 24 stories. A 2022 report by the Austin Business Journal said the company would be leasing at least the top two floors. The construction will include “first generation interior tenant improvements” along with work on “non-structural partitions, ceilings, finishes, and furniture/equipment and associated mechanical, plumbing, and electrical work,” according to the filing. 

PayPal has operated its Data Services officer at 7700 W. Parmer Lane, Austin, TX 78729 since the early 2000s. The company announced the Austin office in 2007.
