Officers at the scene say the man hesitated while trying to cross, and that’s when he was hit by a vehicle.
SAN ANTONIO — A man was injured after being hit by a driver on the east side of San Antonio late Tuesday night, police say.
It happened around 10:30 p.m. on the access road of Interstate-10 at Bicentennial Drive.
Police say the victim, a man in his 30s, was trying to cross the access road when he was struck by a driver in a 4-door sedan. That driver did stop to render aid. The victim was taken to BAMC in critical condition.
Officers say the man hesitated while crossing, which is when he hit.
Then while SAPD was working to divert traffic on the access road, the driver of an 18-wheeler truck backed into a police car parked at the scene.
Police did not say if either driver will be facing any charges.
This is a developing story.
