Pedestrian hit and killed by truck while trying to cross Loop 410 ramp at Highway 281, officials say

SAN ANTONIO — One pedestrian trying to cross the highway was hit and killed by a vehicle on the northeast side of San Antonio Monday afternoon, officials said. 

The incident took place at the off ramp from Loop 410 to Highway 281 around 12:30 p.m. Monday.

San Antonio Police say the pedestrian was trying to cross Loop 410 when he was hit by a truck. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck remained on scene and will not be facing criminal charges.

Some lanes of the highway were closed as crews worked to clear the accident.
