SAN ANTONIO — A man is in critical condition after being struck by a car late Sunday night on the west side, according to San Antonio police.
The crash happened around 11:42 p.m. near Culebra Road and North General McMullen Drive. Police say the man was crossing Culebra when he was hit by a driver in a Honda sedan. The driver stayed at the scene and attempted to render aid, officials said.
The victim was transported to University Hospital in critical condition. According to investigators, no charges are expected against the driver at this time. The SAPD Traffic Investigation Detail is handling the case.
While officers were working the scene, police say another vehicle drove through the flare line meant to block traffic. The driver was stopped and later arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
