Pedestrian seriously injured after struck by pickup truck driver, police say

A 52-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured when he was hit by a pickup truck driver outside of a crosswalk on San Antonio’s east side

SAN ANTONIO — A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a driver in a pickup truck Saturday night on the city’s east side, according to San Antonio police.

Officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of WW White Road around 8:15 p.m. on Dec. 13 for a major accident involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian.

Police say a 52-year-old man was crossing South WW White Road outside of a crosswalk when he was struck by a driver in a Ford Super Duty pickup truck. The driver contacted police shortly after the collision.

The pedestrian sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital for further treatment. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated fully with the investigation.

The incident remains under investigation, and police say details are subject to change.
