Person flown to Temple hospital following crash on Highway 6 near Marlin

The crash created a traffic hazard Saturday morning after soap and hygiene products were left scattered on the roadway.

MARLIN, Texas — Officials say one person was injured following a crash involving a tractor-trailer near Marlin on Saturday.

The Marlin Volunteer Fire Department reported the crash, which also involved a pedestrian, on the southbound lanes of Highway 6 heading into Marlin just before 7:30 a.m. Saturday.

The person injured in the crash was flown to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple, but their injuries are unknown at this time.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash after the tractor-trailer spilled a load of soap and hygiene products on the roadway, forcing traffic to be routed down County Road 116. Meanwhile, other tractor-trailers had to be routed down FM 1240 to FM 147.

While it’s unclear what caused the crash, officials said just before 9:30 a.m. that the roadway should be cleaned up soon with traffic returning to normal.
