Adam Cauthron had 18 years of service as a Firefighter Paramedic certified in technical rescues. He is survived by his wife and children.
PHOENIX — The Phoenix Fire Department is mourning one of their firefighters after his unexpected death.
The department announced Adam Cauthron’s death Sunday morning. He had served as a Firefighter Paramedic for 18 years and was a member of FEMA’s Arizona Task Force 1.
“Adam’s passing is a tremendous loss and we extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and fellow firefighters during this difficult time. The Phoenix Fire Department and United Phoenix Firefighters Local 493 Union are working closely with his loved ones to offer support and provide any assistance they may need,” Phoenix Fire Department Captain Todd Keller said as part of the announcement.
Cauthron passed after a sudden health emergency while off duty, the department said. He is survived by his wife and children.
“He will be remembered as a dedicated husband and father who loved his family, friends, and exploring the outdoors,” Keller said.
The department is expected to share details about his memorial service in the coming days. A GoFundMe has been organized to help support Cauthron’s family.
