Volunteers and foster families kept Canyon Lake shelter dogs warm and safe during the freeze.
CANYON LAKE, Texas — When the cold swept into Canyon Lake, the dogs at the shelter felt it first.
And then the volunteers showed up.
With leashes, blankets, and big hearts, they moved quickly—bringing every dog safely inside, wrapping them in warmth, and reminding them they weren’t facing winter alone. Some pups traded kennel floors for cozy blankets. Others were lucky enough to trade them for couches, thanks to the incredible foster families who opened their homes during the freeze.
Right now, those dogs are warm, comfortable, and very spoiled.
“To our amazing volunteers and fosters: thank you for turning a cold snap into a moment of kindness these dogs will never forget,” said Canyon Lake Animal Shelter.
