SAN ANTONIO — Adorable NICU babies born in San Antonio recently had a Valentine-themed photo shoot to send love notes to their new parents.
The creative nurses at Baptist hospitals across town went above and beyond to create loving photos for the new parents featuring their precious newborns.
The nurse who takes the photos in the NICU at Westover Hills Baptist Hospital, said the photo shoots aren’t just for fun.
“Valentine’s Day is about love and our NICU is full of love every day,” NICU Nurse Marj Nabua said. “I want parents to see and experience the brighter side of the NICU.”
“The photo shoots help the parents bond with their babies and with the NICU staff,” she said. “We get to understand the parents’ needs and their preferences of how they want their babies to be taken care of, and it improves our quality of care. It’s also very rewarding to see the parents’ excitement when they see their babies’ pictures and to see the results of our hard work,” Nabua said.
Baptist Health System nurses in the Labor & Delivery and Post-Partum Units said: “We’re proud to care for all of these beautiful infants and their families.”
