
VAN ZANDT COUNTY, Texas — The pilot of a small plane was killed Tuesday evening after crashing into a Van Zandt County home.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office received a call around 6 p.m. about a plane that crashed into the side of a house on Private Road 7005 just off of Van Zandt County Road 3119.
No one was inside in the home when the plane struck it. The pilot, who was the only person in the plane, was pronounced dead at the scene, DPS said.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the cause of the crash, according to DPS.
Officials said National Transportation Safety Board agents will be at the scene to investigate Wednesday afternoon.
