PEARLAND, Texas — Federal aviation officials are investigating a small plane crash that occurred late Sunday night near Pearland.
According to Pearland police, the crash happened around 10:45 p.m. between Dixie Farm Road and Madison Ann Drive, just off County Road 127. Authorities found the plane upside down in a wooded area, a few hundred feet from the roadway and about a quarter mile from Pearland Regional Airport.
The pilot, who was the only person on board, managed to walk away from the crash without any visible injuries, officials said.
Investigators have not yet determined what led to the crash. Officials are still working to confirm the plane’s departure location and gather more details about the pilot.
The Federal Aviation Administration is leading the investigation.
