COLUMBUS, Ohio — One person died after falling at Ohio Stadium during the university’s spring commencement ceremony Sunday afternoon.
A spokesperson for The Ohio State University said the person fell from the stands and died. No additional information was provided.
The person was pronounced dead at 12:25 p.m. by medics, according to the Columbus Division of Police. The commencement began at noon.
The commencement program continued as planned with no changes as of 1 p.m.
“For anyone affected by today’s incident, we will make counseling and other support resources available,” the spokesperson said in a statement.
