Police arrest three suspects after man found shot in the head in northeast San Antonio

The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

SAN ANTONIO — The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said deputies arrived at the scene of a shooting on the northeast side where one person was discovered with a gunshot wound to the head Tuesday afternoon.

Deputies said they arrived at the location on the 5100 block of North Foster Road where they discovered the victim in a white sedan at Montabella Pointe Apartments. The vehicle appeared to have been shot at several times.

The 18-year-old victim didn’t appear to be breathing. Officials say deputies administered CPR before he was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

Meanwhile, law enforcement believed the shooter fled to the area of South Grimes and Martin Luther King Drive about eight miles away. There, San Antonio police officers found the car they believed the shooter fled the North Foster scene in.

“The possible suspect fled the vehicle into a residence on South Walters, a house,” an SAPD sergeant on the scene said, adding police detained several people who were inside. “One of the gentleman that left the location said there might be someone still in there.”

A quadrant was set up around the home into which the suspects in the suspicious vehicle fled to, SAPD says. Officers arrived at the location and called out to the suspects in the home located at the 500 block S. Walters. The three suspects eventually exited the home and were taken into custody and booked for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The suspects are 16, 17 and 19-years-old, police say.

This is a developing story.
