The Denver Broncos lost 43-8 to the Seattle Seahawks in that game.
SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Police are asking for your help finding a Super Bowl XLVIII helmet signed by the entire Denver Broncos team that was recently stolen.
Police say the helmet was taken during a burglary of a building on July 26.
No word on what the actual cash value the helmet is estimated to be, but a helmet signed by just Peyton Manning is valued at $2,734.99, according to Sportsmemorabilia.com.
Super Bowl XLVIII featured the Denver Broncos versus the Seattle Seahawks on February 2, 2014 at MetLife Stadium n Rutherford, New Jersey.
The helmet probably would have been worth a lot more if the Broncos had not lost the big game in the third largest point differential overall (35) in Super Bowl history, 43-8.
The Broncos’ lineup for Super Bowl XLVIII included Peyton Manning at quarterback, wide receivers Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker, and running back Knowshon Moreno. The offensive line included Louis Vasquez and Zane Beadles. Playing defense was Von Miller, Shaquil Barret and Danny Trevathan. Denver’s coach was John Fox. The actual list of the sigantures was not provided.
Interesting to note that Super Bowl XLVIII earned a few unofficial nicknames, including “Weed Bowl”, “Bong Bowl”, and “Marijuana Bowl,” due to the home states of the Seahawks and Broncos (Washington and Colorado) being the first two states to legalize recreational marijuana in 2012.
The owner of this NFL memorabilia would like it returned.
If you know anything about where the helmet might be, please call San Antonio Police Property Crimes Unit at (210) 207-4192.
