Police arrest a man accused of throwing items off a roof onto cars on the south side, using a drone to assist.

SAN ANTONIO — Police arrested a man they say was throwing things off a roof onto cars below at a building on the south side Friday.

It all started when officers got a call for someone on the roof of a building throwing items at cars and possibly damaging cars. This was at the intersection of Devine Road and South Presa Street around 11:54 a.m.

Officers arrived and were able to use the police drone, Ravin, to get a look at the man on the roof. Police say they could see he had a pocket knife in his hand and a blowtorch. Officers were able to talk him off the roof and took him into custody. It is not confirmed whether there was any damage to cars from throwing the items.
