Police investigate possible murder-suicide at San Antonio east-side home

Police say the bodies appeared to have gunshot wounds.

SAN ANTONIO — Authorities are investigating a possible murder-suicide that occurred at an east-side home Monday afternoon, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

Police were called to the 2400 block of Christian Drive around 1:40 p.m. after finding their family members dead in the residence.

Family members said they had not heard from the couple for a few days and became increasingly concerned after the couple did not open their business on Monday. Packages were also reportedly piling up outside the home.

Police said a welfare check was conducted and a man and woman’s body were found. They were pronounced dead in the home and both bodies had sustained gunshot wounds.

Authorities said the man and woman are estimated to be in their 60s.

SAPD said the preliminary evidence suggests it was a murder-suicide but the investigation is ongoing.

The medical examiner will determine a cause of death.
