CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Late Friday night, police in Corpus Christi responded to reports of gunfire at The Cottages apartment complex along the 1900 block of Ennis Joslin Road.
When officers arrived just before midnight, they discovered two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Police quickly provided emergency medical care at the scene before both victims were taken to a nearby hospital. Authorities say their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Investigators later learned the shooting stemmed from an altercation that broke out during a gathering at the location. At some point during the dispute, a firearm was reportedly pulled, leading to the gunfire.
Several individuals who were present at the party were detained by officers as detectives began piecing together what happened. However, as of now, no arrests have been made.
Police emphasize that the incident appears to be isolated and that there is no ongoing threat to the public. The case remains under active investigation.
