
Preliminary information suggests that the suspect shot the victim, then himself, but police aren’t sure if it was deliberate or accidental.
SAN ANTONIO — Police are investigating after two men were found shot in downtown San Antonio on New Year’s Eve.
It happened around midnight in the 100 block of South St. Mary’s Street near East Commerce Street.
Police responded to reports of the shooting in progress near the Drury Plaza Hotel. When officers arrived, the parties involved had left the location. Officers said the vehicle with those involved was seen leaving the hotel and was stopped police.
Both the 20-year-old victim and the 20-year-old suspect were found to be passengers inside the car and later taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
At the time of this report, preliminary information indicates the suspect shot the victim and then himself, however it is unknown if it was was accidental or intentional.
The exact location of the shooting has also not yet been determined because police say it didn’t happen at the hotel.
