Police investigating shootout on I-35 involving two vehicles that left three injured

Witnesses told police suspects in two vehicles were firing off shots at each other on the highway.

SAN ANTONIO — Police are investigating after witnesses say suspects inside two vehicles were firing off shots at each other on the highway.

It happened around 10:30 a.m. Sunday on I-35 near Splashtown Drive.

San Antonio Police received reports of two vehicles shooting at each other as they drove on the highway near Fort Sam Houston. When officers arrived, three victims in their mid 20s were found with gunshot wounds. They were taken to BAMC with non-life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses told police they saw three to four people with rifles running away from the scene after crashing one of the vehicles.

Police are searching for the suspects involved.
