SAN ANTONIO — SAPD is looking for a suspect who rammed a stolen car into a patrol unit and took off from the scene on the east side Thursday morning.

Officers were called out for a report of a stolen vehicle to the 5200 block of Finis Avenue around 1:50 a.m.

Police say two units responded to the scene and saw a man run toward the stolen car and get into the driver’s side. One officer parked his patrol unit in front of the stolen car and another officer put his unit behind the stolen car. The suspect then drove toward the patrol unit in front of him, striking it. One of the officers fired a shot at the suspect, but it does not appear the suspect was hit.

The suspect fled the area and officers have not located the stolen vehicle.

Once arrested, the suspect will face aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against a police officer charges.
