The woman was trying to put the dog on the balcony because it was showing signs of aggression and that’s when it attacked.
SAN ANTONIO — A woman is in critical condition after her dog attacked her late Wednesday night, police say.
Police responded a little after 11 p.m. to an apartment on the 1400 block of Patricia Drive near West Avenue, northwest of downtown, for reports of a dog attack.
Officers say the dog was being aggressive towards a friend the woman had over, and when she tried to put the dog on the balcony, police say it turned on her.
The victim, a woman in her 20s, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to University Hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
The City of San Antonio’s Animal Care Services was one of the agencies that responded to the call, as it does with any report of an aggressive dog.
This is a developing story.
