
A man in his 20s or 30s was found shot to death in a targeted attack on San Antonio’s east side, police say.
SAN ANTONIO — Police are investigating a deadly shooting on the east side of San Antonio that they say was a targeted attack.
According to San Antonio police, officers were dispatched around 1:18 a.m. Wednesday to the 1500 block of Center Street, between North Walters and North Gevers streets, for reports of shots fired.
When officers arrived, they found a 31-year-old man outside a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper and lower body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say more than 80 rounds were fired during the shooting, involving both rifles and handguns.
Witnesses told police they heard gunfire and saw a black sedan leaving the area.
Homicide Detective William Morgan says multiple suspects are believed to have driven up, opened fire and fled.
Police say the shooting is believed to be related to criminal activity.
The gunfire also struck two nearby homes and a vehicle, but no other injuries were reported.
Authorities say the size of the crime scene is contributing to the length of the investigation.
No arrests have been announced.
