Police say man attempting to cross street struck by driver, critically injured

The victim died from his injuries at the hospital.

SAN ANTONIO — A man who was trying to cross the street on the east side was struck by a driver and critically injured, according to police.

It happened around 11 p.m. Friday in the 700 block of South New Braunfels Avenue near Martin Luther King Drive.

Officers say the man was not inside a crosswalk when he was struck by a driver in a silver 2025 Toyota Corolla.

The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition where he died from his injuries. His identity has not yet been released.

The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities. They were evaluated by police and found to not be intoxicated. 

No Criminal Charges are pending against the driver.
