SAN ANTONIO — A motorcyclist was killed after police say he was racing, fell off his bike and was run over by an 18-wheeler on the northwest side of town late Saturday night.

The accident happened on Interstate-10 West near UTSA Boulevard around 11 p.m.

Police say the victim was driving at a high rate of speed, racing other motorcyclists when he lost control and fell off of his bike.

The truck driver didn’t see the victim and made a move to switch lanes, running him over.

It is possible that other vehicles hit the victim as well.

First responders pronounced the man dead at the scene. The truck driver, as well as other drivers, stayed at the crash scene and cooperated with police.

No charges are expected to be filed against the driver of the truck.

This is a developing story.
