SAN ANTONIO — Police say that racing may have caused a motorcycle crash just north of downtown, near Brackenridge Park, Monday evening.

San Antonio Police were dispatched to Broadway at Funston Place around 9:28 p.m. for reports of a motorcycle crash.

Police say a man in his 20s was speeding with two other bikes when a driver in a red sedan crashed into him. The victim flew at least 30 yards and was taken to BAMC in critical condition.

The two other motorcyclists were detained by officers for racing. A family member of the injured who showed up to the scene to pick up their belongings was also detained by officers.

The driver of the red sedan was tested for intoxication, but was released. As of right now, no charges have been filed.

This is a developing story.
