SAN ANTONIO — Police are searching for the suspect who shot a man in the leg in front of the Marriott hotel downtown, then took off on a bike.
It happened just after midnight in the 100 block of Bowie Street.
When officers arrived at the location, they found a 19-year-old man shot in his leg. He was taken to University Hospital in stable condition.
According to police, the victim was walking down East Commerce Street with a group of friends when they were approached by the suspect who was wearing all black. Police say the suspect began firing several rounds at the group with no provocation hitting the victim in the leg.
Police say the shooter took off after the shooting on a motorized scooter.
This incident comes in the middle of spring break in San Antonio.
This comes as the city readies for the Final Four with basketball fans traveling from all over for the tournament that will take place in the downtown area.
