Police say two men shot each other at bar on Broadway, critically injuring each other

The victims were shot outside of Bentley’s Bar on Broadway around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday.

SAN ANTONIO — Two men are in critical condition after a shooting early Monday morning at a bar on the city’s north side, according to San Antonio police.

Officers were called to Bentley’s Bar in the 8100 block of Broadway around 1:30 a.m. after reports of gunfire. Police said a fight broke out inside the bar and then spilled into the parking lot, where shots were fired.

Several people fled the scene following the shooting, authorities said.

Two men, ages 29 and 58, were taken by friends to a nearby hospital with gunshot wounds. Both were then transported to University Hospital in critical condition. 

Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident. Police say it is not known what may have led up to the shooting in the parking lot. 

The San Antonio Police Department, San Antonio Fire Department, and EMS all responded to the scene.
