Police search for suspect accused of stabbing man during attempted robbery in southwest San Antonio

SAPD said the suspect approached the man as he was walking home and demanded money. When he didn’t have it, police say the suspect stabbed him in the back.

SAN ANTONIO — An attempted robbery took a violent turn over the weekend after San Antonio police said a man was stabbed on the city’s southwest side.

Investigators said a man was walking home from a store near the 1400 block of Brighton Avenue on Sunday just before 11 p.m. when he was approached by the suspect who demanded money from him.

When the 59-year-old victim didn’t have any, police said the victim stabbed him in the back.

Despite no money being stolen, police are searching for the suspect who they say faces charges for aggravated robbery.

The man was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No word on any arrests at this time.

This is still an active investigation. Anyone with information in the case is urged to call SAPD.
