Police search for suspect after woman is struck by firearm outside motel, SAPD says

SAN ANTONIO — According to San Antonio Police, one woman was treated for injuries after getting hit by a gun in a motel parking lot on the east-side overnight.

The incident occurred on the 3300 block of Interstate 35 around 1:45 a.m. Saturday. 

Authorities say an altercation began between two people then one person displayed a firearm leading a man to leave the scene. The man with the firearm struck a female resident of the motel that was standing in the parking lot during the disturbance, according SAPD. 

As the man with the firearm left the motel he fired several shots into the air, officials say.

The woman struck by the firearm was treated at the scene for minor injuries. 

The investigation is ongoing.
