Police searching for driver after hit-and-run injures woman riding scooter downtown on Christmas night

Police are searching for a driver who fled after hitting a woman on an electric scooter in downtown San Antonio on Christmas night.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police are asking for the public’s help to identify a driver accused of seriously injuring a woman in a hit-and-run crash in downtown San Antonio on Christmas night.

The collision happened around 9 p.m. on Dec. 25 in the 200 block of Losoya Street.

According to investigators, the 34-year-old woman was riding an electric scooter southbound when a red Polaris Slingshot cut her off, causing her to crash into the vehicle.

Police said the driver did not stop to help and fled the scene.

The suspect is described as a young man wearing a black jacket or black hoodie at the time of the crash.

The victim suffered injuries, though her current condition has not been released.

San Antonio police say identifying the driver is critical to solving the case.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to a felony arrest.
