
Police say the man told officers he woke up when someone ran over his legs.
SAN ANTONIO — A man sleeping under a downtown overpass was seriously injured early Sunday after a vehicle drove over his legs and fled the scene, according to San Antonio police.
The incident was reported just after midnight in the 300 block of Austin Street near I-37 South. Officers arrived to find a 41-year-old man who had been sleeping under the bridge near a parking lot.
Police say the man told officers he woke up when an unknown vehicle ran over his legs. The driver did not stop or provide aid and left the area before officers arrived.
The victim suffered major injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Investigators currently have no information on the vehicle or driver. The case remains active, and police say all details are preliminary and may change as the investigation continues.
