SAN ANTONIO — Police say a man driving a stolen vehicle was seriously injured after causing a three-vehicle crash on the city’s south side Thursday morning.
The crash happened around 7:36 a.m. near 1000 Ada Street, close to South Gebers Street.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, a man in his early 20s was driving a Kia Forte when he lost control and struck a curb on the opposite side of the road.
Investigators say when the driver attempted to get back onto the roadway, he collided with a Honda Civic. The impact pushed the Civic into a truck traveling in the other lane, leading to a three-vehicle crash.
Police later determined the Kia had been reported stolen.
Authorities say the Kia driver broke both of his legs in the crash and was taken to a hospital. His condition has not been released.
The driver of the Honda Civic was not seriously injured but was transported to a hospital for evaluation. The truck driver was not hurt.
After speaking with witnesses, officers say the Kia driver had been driving erratically leading up to the crash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
