Police: Traffic stop in Seguin leads to discovery of $65,000 worth of black tar heroin; suspect facing multiple charges

SEGUIN, Texas — A 24-year-old man is facing multiple drug charges after black tar heroin was found in his vehicle, Seguin police say.

On Friday just before 10 p.m., a K9 officer with the Seguin Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a truck on I-10 West for multiple traffic violations.

During the stop, the K9 alerted the officer that an odor of drugs was coming from the truck. Inside two pounds of black tar heroin along with THC products and a semi-automatic handgun.

The heroin has an estimated value of $65,000, according to police.

Andres Teijeda Valencia, 24, of Irvine, Texas, was arrested and charged with manufacturing or delivery of a controlled substance more than 400 grams, possession of a controlled substance under one gram and unlawful carry of a weapon. His bonds total $107,000.
