Moulin Rouge! The Musical dazzles San Antonio’s Majestic Theatre, opening Tuesday and running until June 8.
SAN ANTONIO — Pop spectacular Moulin Rouge! The Musical is back in San Antonio bringing glamour, glitz and romance to the main stage.
Opening night of the beloved musical is Tuesday and it runs for several shows until Sunday, June 8 at the Majestic Theatre in downtown San Antonio.
The musical is based on Baz Luhrmann’s iconic 2001 movie that pays homage to the Moulin Rouge French music halls known for their elaborate stage shows. It tells the story of an English poet Christian who falls in love with the star of the Moulin Rouge cabaret performer Satine. The stage musical version of the movie debuted in 2018.
Moulin Rouge! The Musical features a book by Tony Award winner John Logan, music supervision, orchestrations, and arrangements by Tony Award winner Justin Levine, and choreography by Tony Award winner Sonya Tayeh.
The musical runs 2 hours and 35 minutes with one intermission and is recommended for age 12 and up.
