La Focaccia Italian Grill, a beloved culinary fixture in King William for 30 years, closed permanently Saturday, marking the end of an era for the community.
SAN ANTONIO — A popular Italian restaurant in the King William area closed its doors for good Saturday after 30 years in business.
La Focaccia Italian Grill, located at the iconic intersection of South Alamo and South Presa street in the heart of King William and Southtown, announced its last day was Saturday, Jan. 31.
Owner Domenico Cicarelli posted the announcement in a video reel on Facebook last week. In the video, he thanked the community for its support over the years. The restaurant was a mainstay in the trendy area since opening its doors in 1996.
The restaurant was known for its selection of pasta, pizza and appetizers. The original owners, Luigi and Dolores Ciccarelli, also ran the popular Luigi’s Italian Restaurant on San Pedro from 1972-2006, according to the restaurant’s website.
