ARLINGTON, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys have announced who the halftime performer will be for their highly anticipated matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs on Thanksgiving Day.
Post Malone, a native North Texan, will take the stage at halftime of the Cowboys’ annual game on the holiday, the team announced Sunday.
The musician, a massive Cowboys fan whose father once worked for the team’s catering company, has collaborated with the team on a number of projects, including a line of streetwear and a promotion at Raising Cane’s.
Malone’s family first moved to Grapevine after his father became the Cowboys’ manager of concessions.
The Cowboys’ history of big-name performers at their annual Thanksgiving game dates back more than 25 years. Most recently, country singer Lainey Wilson played at last year’s game. Other artists to perform at the game include Dolly Parton, Reba McIntire and Selena Gomez.
The Cowboys will take on the perennial Super Bowl contenders at 3:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27 at AT&T Stadium.
The prospect of seeing Post Malone as the Cowboys take on three-time Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs — and to potentially also see Taylor Swift, who is newly engaged to Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce — may have driven a surge in interest and demand for tickets for the game.
