No official word on what caused the outage.
Poteet ISD released a statement saying they will be dismissing students early as the power company expects the power outage to last the rest of the day.
The district said for car riders, students will be delivered to the cars as entry into the buildings is not permitted.
For bus riders, busses will reportedly begin taking students home, starting with elementary and intermediate campuses.
Secondary students reportedly will be picked up on the second bus route and the district said once students are loaded onto the bus, they cannot be removed.
