Power line falls on fence as SAFD battled blaze at home on southeast side

Nobody lives in the home that officials say was being used as storage.

SAN ANTONIO — A power line fell on a fence causing firefighters some concern as they battled a blaze at a home on the southeast side of town early Wednesday morning.

It happened around 3:41 a.m. at a home on Hermitage Court at Junior Street near South New Braunfels Avenue.

When firefighters arrived at the home there were heavy flames coming from the front of the house. 

A power line fell on the fence and caused some concern for firefighters while they were working to extinguish the fire. 

Firefighters were able to quickly contain the fire with no injuries being reported. Nobody lives in the home that officials say was being used as storage.

Officials say that 30% of the house was damaged in the blaze. 

Firefighters believe an electrical problem may have ignited the fire.
