Power outage keeps Scobee Middle School students on campus for full day

Students at Scobee Middle School will remain on campus for the school day after officials said power will not be restored Monday.

SAN ANTONIO — Students at Scobee Middle School remained on campus Monday after a power outage left the campus without electricity.

School officials first shared an update around 9:45 a.m., saying crews were working with CPS Energy to restore power as quickly as possible.

During the outage, students were safely gathered in the cafeteria and gym, according to school administrators. The campus also continued serving lunch as scheduled.

Parents were told they could sign their child out through the front office if they preferred to pick them up early.

By 12:17 p.m., school leaders announced CPS Energy informed them that power would not be restored Monday.

Despite the outage, students will remain on campus for the rest of the school day and be released at the regular dismissal time, officials said.

Parents still have the option to pick up their child early by signing them out at the front office.
