Premium Waters Inc. will break ground on a new manufacturing site in Seguin by the end of 2023, according to a news release. The company bottles both private-label and brand-name water products across 21 locations in the U.S., according to the release.
“We are excited that Premium Waters will make this substantial investment in Seguin,” said Seguin City Manager Steve Parker in the release. “The City of Seguin has a diversified water portfolio, and our water supply is in an excellent position to accommodate not only the needs for Premium Waters but also the long-term needs of our rapidly growing community.”
The facility will be located at Freeport Way and Crossroads Boulevard, which is near Schulze Pit Room off of Texas Highway 123. Of the 60 full-time jobs, the average annual wage will be $60,000, according to the release. Premium Waters’ new Seguin location will begin operations in 2024.
The company and Seguin Economic Development Corporation are in a performance agreement with economic development incentives that were approved by city council members on Tuesday, April 18, according to the release. A $150,000 incentive will be given to Premium Waters after it hits specific capital investments, jobs, and pay performance goals over the life of the agreement.
“This is a great win for the Seguin community,” said Josh Schneuker, Executive Director of the Seguin Economic Development Corporation in the release. “In addition to the substantial investment Premium Waters will be making in Seguin, they are also going to be creating dozens of new jobs with an average wage that exceeds the average wage for Guadalupe County. We are extremely excited to announce this project and look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship with Premium Waters.
