Lamb started the game on fire. Trailing 3-0 to the Detroit Lions, quarterback Dak Prescott escaped the pocket to his right and rainbowed a 92-yard touchdown pass to Lamb. It was the second-longest touchdown pass in Cowboys history, only behind the 95-yarder in 1966 from Don Meredith to Bob “The Bullet” Hayes. It’s fitting … speaking that those two are also in the Cowboys Ring of Honor.
The Prescott-Lamb hook-up put Dallas ahead 7-3 just before the end of the first quarter.
Lamb also broke Irvin’s single season receptions record (111). Lamb entered the game with 109 and broke that record in the middle of the second quarter.
Lamb finished the game with 13 catches for 227 yards and one touchdown.
